Carrd custom fonts and builtin fonts
Carrd gives you three broad ways to control typography: builtāin Google Fonts, serving those fonts locally, and embedding completely custom fonts via CSS. This keeps simple sites easy to style while still letting you bring in brand fonts or languageāspecific typefaces when you upgrade to Pro Standard or higher.
Uploading local fonts (Pro Standard)
If you are on Carrd Pro Standard or above, you can toggle āServe fonts locallyā so that Carrd hosts the font files directly on your site instead of pulling them from the Google Fonts API. This is done from Publish ā Settings ā Options ā āServe fonts locally,ā then publishing your changes. For visitors, the experience is the same visually, but local serving can help with performance, privacy requirements, or situations where external CDNs are blocked. Custom fonts via embed code
For fonts that are not on Carrdās builtāin list, Pro Standard users can use the Embed element to insert custom HTML and CSS. The typical pattern is to either import a font from Google Fonts, Adobe Fonts, or another CDN using @import or a <link> tag, or to define a selfāhosted @font-face rule pointing to your own .woff / .woff2 files, then apply that font-family to specific elements using CSS selectors or element IDs. This works because the Embed element can output <style> tags either inline or into the <head> of your Carrd site. Builtin fonts (Free)
To use Carrdās builtāin fonts, select any text element, go to its Appearance settings, and choose a font from the Font dropdown ā no code or upgrade needed.
